About this opportunity
The City of University Park is requesting bids on roadway materials including asphalt aggregates, concrete sand, pea gravel, fine crushed concrete, screened sandy loam, and Portland cement to support the Public Works Department's street and sidewalk maintenance, with bids due August 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and questions due July 27 at 4:00 p.m.
The scope covers annual quantities: 2,575 tons of 1" crushed stone, 855 tons of concrete sand, 180 tons of pea gravel, 1,380 tons of 3/8" fine crushed concrete, 80 cubic yards of screened sandy loam, and 377 tons of Type 1L Portland cement. All materials must be delivered to the City's transfer station at 2525 University Boulevard, Dallas, within two business days of order placement, preferably between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
The contract runs for an initial one-year term commencing in October 2026 with two optional annual renewals. Pricing must include all delivery fees and remain firm for the initial contract year with no surcharges or fuel fees permitted; price escalations in subsequent years may be considered based on the Producer Price Index with thirty days' written notice prior to renewal. Net 30 payment terms apply, with invoices submitted to payables@uptexas.org. The City is tax-exempt.
The City reserves the right to award to one or more vendors for all items or individual line items. Distributors must own, lease, or maintain a dedicated contractual agreement for at least two tandem or belly dump trucks to guarantee daily delivery volumes. Evaluation criteria include reputation, quality, past relationships, and total long-term costs in addition to price. Vendors must demonstrate adequate financial resources, proven delivery capabilities, satisfactory performance history, and integrity. No bid bond is required. The public bid opening will occur virtually via Microsoft Teams immediately after the submission deadline. All award recommendations are subject to final approval by the City Council.
