About this opportunity
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is seeking qualified vendors to enter into Master Agreements for Trailing Bloodhound Canine and Handler Investigative Services through a Request for Statement of Qualifications (RFSQ). The procurement is designed to secure on-demand investigative services involving scent-specific searches using specialized canine tracking teams. Vendors must provide a handler and a certified bloodhound trained in scent-trailing across various geographical terrains, capable of conducting searches throughout Los Angeles County. Minimum mandatory qualifications require vendors to submit documentation proving the canine's certification from a recognized canine facility, evidence of up-to-date vaccinations, and handler certification in scent-specific man-trailing. The solicitation requires vendors to demonstrate ability to respond to investigative locations, provide necessary equipment, and potentially make court appearances as approved by the Department. The proposal is due on January 16, 3025, with vendors required to submit a comprehensive Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) that includes detailed certification and vaccination documentation.
While the solicitation does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or preferences for disadvantaged businesses, it focuses on the technical capabilities of the canine and handler team. The contract appears to be structured as an indefinite quantity, on-demand master agreement allowing the Sheriff's Department to utilize these specialized investigative services as needed. No specific budget range or award value is specified in the provided documentation, suggesting potential flexible engagement terms based on investigative requirements. The procurement is structured to ensure high-quality, specialized tracking services through rigorous qualification criteria that validate the technical competence of the canine-handler teams. Vendors must be prepared to provide comprehensive documentation demonstrating their team's specific training, certification, and physical capabilities for conducting scent-trailing investigations across diverse terrains within Los Angeles County.
