About this opportunity
The County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health and Quality is requesting quotations for a large format plotter printer system under RFQ 13336, with quotes due September 14, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. and questions due September 7, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
The County will consider purchase or lease arrangements for one multifunction device capable of printing, copying, and scanning large-format documents including engineering drawings, maps, and blueprints. The plotter must deliver a minimum print width of 36 inches, laser print technology with 2400 x 1200 dpi resolution, support for both roll and sheet-fed media, black and multicolor toner capability, and network connectivity via Ethernet, USB, and preferably Wi-Fi. Comprehensive security requirements apply: IEEE 802.1X network authentication, FIPS 140-2/140-3 validated encryption, digitally signed firmware, role-based access control with multi-factor authentication, and NIST-compliant data sanitization procedures.
The initial contract term runs January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027, with four one-year renewal options extending through December 31, 2031, plus potential for additional six-month incremental extensions. Pricing must be submitted on a fixed-price basis and fully inclusive of delivery, installation, configuration, maintenance, repairs, parts, consumables, and technical support throughout the contract term. The contractor must provide on-site training within five business days of installation, preventative maintenance per manufacturer specifications, emergency service response within four hours, parts replacement within 24 hours of defect identification, and loaner equipment after two consecutive business days of downtime. The County retains title to all equipment and materials produced; the contractor must maintain comprehensive liability insurance as specified in the Draft Agreement.
Evaluation considers technical merit, experience, capacity, price, and sustainability. Eric Ayres, Procurement Specialist, serves as Contracting Officer. Pricing for both purchase and lease options must be itemized separately in the Payment Schedule for the initial year and each option year.
