About this opportunity

The County of San Diego, Department of Purchasing and Contracting, is requesting quotes for conveyor dishwashing machine rental services for the Sheriff's Office Food Service Division, with quotes due September 23, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The County seeks rental of two conveyor dishwashing machines — one each at the East Mesa Re-Entry Detention Facility in San Diego and the South Bay Detention Facility in Chula Vista — specified as single-tank 20-inch rack conveyor configuration with flexible strip curtains, stainless steel construction, 2-horsepower motors distributing 300 gallons per minute, and automatic fill and start functions. Acceptable models include CMA Dish Machines EST-44, Ecolab ES-4000, Ecolab EC44, Stero SCT-44, or equivalent.

The initial contract term runs eight months from award through June 30, 2027, with four one-year option periods available through June 30, 2031. The County reserves the right to extend the agreement in one- to six-month increments beyond the option periods. Pricing must be all-inclusive of transportation, labor, service, repairs, replacement parts, and all other costs, with separate line items for conveyor dishwashing machine rental, equipment assembly, and equipment removal for each machine.

The contractor must provide routine service with a four-hour response time from receipt of service request and complete all repairs within twenty-four hours; failure to meet the twenty-four-hour deadline triggers reimbursement of consumable paper products used by the Sheriff's Office. Delivery must occur within ten calendar days of order, with no restocking fees for damaged or incorrect items. All contractor personnel accessing Sheriff's Office facilities must complete background checks and comply with facility security procedures. The contractor must maintain commercial general liability insurance of $2 million per occurrence, automobile liability coverage of $1 million, and California-mandated workers' compensation insurance, with the County named as an additional insured and primary coverage holder. Questions are due September 9, 2026.
