About this opportunity
The County of San Diego, Department of Purchasing and Contracting, is requesting quotes for as-needed Tuff Sheds and assembly services to San Diego County Fire, with quotes due August 24, 2026 and questions due August 3, 2026. Contractors must be authorized Tuff Shed providers holding current California State B General Building Contractor licensure and California Department of Industrial Relations registration.
The scope covers garage-style storage sheds in two size configurations—24' x 30' or 18' x 24'—available in three model series (Sundance Series, Premier Ranch, or Premier Pro Ranch) with specified features including insulated overhead garage doors, residential doors, premium shingle roofing, fire-rated vents and windows, house wrap, and vertical groove cement or wood panel siding in white, gray, or brown finishes. Delivery and assembly services are available to 26 fire stations across San Diego County and a primary location at 21610 Crestline Road, Palomar Mountain, California. Delivery must occur within 60 calendar days of quote approval; assembly services (if requested) must be completed within 30 calendar days of the mutually agreed-upon start date. The County delivers Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. San Diego time, excluding County-observed holidays.
The initial contract term runs from award through June 30, 2027, with one optional one-year extension through June 30, 2028, and additional incremental renewal options of one to six months. Pricing is fixed-price for materials, assembly services, engineering services, and full-service paint application, with separate itemized quotes required for each model and service category for both the initial term and option year. Assembly service pricing must be all-inclusive of travel costs including hotel, meals, and mileage. The contractor must furnish the full manufacturer's warranty and provide stamped, site-specific engineered plans. All work is subject to California prevailing wage requirements under Labor Code sections 1720 et seq. and may be subject to federal Davis-Bacon Act requirements. Contractors must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance ($2 million per occurrence), automobile liability ($1 million each accident), and workers' compensation coverage, with the County named as additional insured.
