About this opportunity
The Naugatuck Board of Education is requesting competitive bids for removal, replacement, and installation of restroom partitions at City Hill Middle School under RFP 202701-01, with sealed proposals due September 22, 2026 at 12:00 p.m., and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on August 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. All partition systems must comply with ADA guidelines and local building codes.
The scope covers approximately 20 restrooms containing 52 stalls. Bidders must remove and dispose of existing partitions and provide, deliver, and install replacement systems specified as durable, vandal-resistant, and aesthetically pleasing. The Board reserves the right to award for materials only, installation only, or both. Pricing proposals must be itemized by demolition, material, freight/delivery, installation labor, and hardware using a provided matrix format.
Bidders must demonstrate successful completion of at least three similar projects within the last five years and possess all necessary Connecticut permits and licenses. Prevailing wage rates apply. Performance and payment bonds must equal 100 percent of bid price; workers' compensation and commercial general liability insurance with a $2 million aggregate minimum are required.
Contract duration extends for the life of the project with a minimum 5-year warranty on equipment and labor and a preferred 15-year warranty on materials. The Board evaluates proposals on past company experience, cost, project completion examples, qualifications, and other criteria — awards are not based solely on lowest bid. The Board is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and encourages minority, women, and small business enterprises to apply.
Questions must be submitted by September 8, 2026 at 12:00 p.m., with responses posted by September 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Public opening and reading occur immediately after the proposal deadline.
