About this opportunity
The Connecticut Department of Administrative Services is requesting bids on network upgrades at Rentschler Field, 615 Silver Lane, East Hartford, Connecticut, with bids due September 17, 2026 under ITB issued through the Connecticut Purchasing Cooperative (CRDA).
The scope encompasses removal and replacement of existing network equipment, cabling, and associated infrastructure; provision and installation of new network equipment including structured cabling systems, converged networks, and wireless local area network installations across the entire facility; and offsite disposal of all removed materials in accordance with applicable regulations. The facility will remain occupied during construction, requiring coordination with Owner staff and adherence to strict safety protocols, including background checks and security badges for all personnel. The contractor must maintain a construction schedule with activities no longer than twenty days each, provide 72-hour advance notice for activities affecting operations, and submit daily construction reports, material location reports, and weekly photographic documentation.
The project includes three contract alternates: ADD ALTERNATE #1 for security device cabling, ADD ALTERNATE #2 for wireless local area network installation, and DEDUCT ALTERNATE #3 for network switches (twelve units with associated cabling and integration). Design services were provided by Silver Petrucelli + Associates, Inc.
The contractor is responsible for all costs related to public health emergencies, material escalation, supply chain delays, and extended general conditions as anticipated in the bid price. Prior to contract award and work commencement, the contractor must provide proof of insurance, performance and payment bonds, and evidence of compliance with applicable building codes and regulations. Payment requires submission of a schedule of values and regular applications for payment with waivers of mechanic's liens from subcontractors and suppliers. Connecticut state-required forms must be completed and submitted with the proposal.
