About this opportunity

Green Hill School in Kittitas County, Washington is requesting bids on HVAC improvements for the campus, with proposals due July 22, 2026. The scope encompasses a 4-pipe air-to-water CO2 heat pump plant serving three residential buildings (Spruce, Hawthorn, and Maple); retrofit of eight air handling units (four each in Hawthorn and Maple) with new supply and return fanwalls, coils, dampers, and filters; a new Direct Digital Control system with a front-end at Central Plant Building Z; and building-level controllers for Hawthorn, Maple, and Spruce. The retrofit must be phased with two air handling units at a time, one building at a time.

Additional work includes demolition of the existing 400 horsepower fire tube hot water boiler from Building Z; demolition and replacement of a portion of Building Z's wall assembly with a new roll-up service door and louvers; buried chilled and heating water piping distribution from the Central Plant to the new CO2 heat pump pad and to all three buildings; and a CMU block wall enclosure. Building-level controllers will integrate with existing exhaust fans (four per building), domestic hot water systems, and unit heaters (two per building). Pressure-independent control valves, differential pressure sensors, and supply and return temperature sensors will be provided, with Bid Alternate 01 addressing supply and return temperature sensors for the Spruce Building.

The specifications document (2025-085 H - Bid Documents - Specifications.pdf, 17 MB) details technical requirements, materials, equipment standards, and installation procedures.
