About this opportunity
Sourcewell, a State of Minnesota local government unit and service cooperative, is seeking proposals for Public Safety Training and Simulation Equipment and Technology through a comprehensive procurement solicitation. The contract aims to establish a procurement solution for thousands of participating entities across the United States and Canada, including governmental agencies, higher education institutions, K-12 schools, nonprofit organizations, and tribal governments. Proposals must be submitted exclusively through the Sourcewell Procurement Portal by October 23, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. Central Time, with late submissions automatically disqualified. The procurement opportunity specifically targets public safety training equipment and technology solutions, focusing on simulation technologies that can enhance training capabilities for first responders and public safety personnel. The contract term is set for four years and will cover all New York State counties, with a comprehensive evaluation process that will consider technical capabilities, vendor experience, and alignment with public safety training needs. Interested vendors must carefully review the full Request for Proposals available on the Sourcewell Procurement Portal to ensure compliance with all submission requirements.
The procurement does not include a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside, indicating open competition for all qualified vendors. Several businesses have previously been awarded similar contracts, including ADS, Inc., Doron Precision Systems, Elevate Healthcare, JHB Group, Laerdal Medical, Lexipol, Lion First Responder, Virage Simulation, Inc., and WHP Training Towers. These incumbent vendors suggest a competitive landscape with established providers in public safety training and simulation technology. The procurement indicates that similar goods or services have been purchased from out-of-state and foreign vendors within the past three years, signaling a willingness to consider diverse vendor backgrounds. While specific award values are not detailed, the broad scope of participating entities and the four-year contract term suggest a potentially significant market opportunity for selected vendors. The multi-jurisdictional nature of the contract through Sourcewell implies a substantial procurement initiative that could provide widespread access to advanced public safety training technologies across multiple sectors and geographic regions.
