The Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife is requesting bids on the Cherry Creek State Park North Shop Creek Trail Connector Bridge replacement project (Project CC2501T11, IFB1 PMAA 2027000013) with sealed bids due October 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a non-mandatory pre-bid conference on September 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The project is located in Cherry Creek State Park, Aurora, in Denver City and Denver County.

Service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses registered with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs may claim a 5 percent bid preference. Resident bidder preferences are available under Colorado law. Colorado labor must comprise at least 80 percent of the workforce on this public works project exceeding $500,000, with written justification required if this threshold cannot be met.

The scope includes purchase and installation of a 100-foot by 5-foot prefabricated steel truss pedestrian bridge with an 8-foot clear width, reinforced concrete deck, and drilled caisson foundations. Associated work encompasses mobilization, site clearing and grubbing across 1.9 acres, traffic and water control, construction surveying, excavation and fill (unclassified and structural), 24-inch diameter drilled shafts to depths exceeding 5 feet, reinforcing steel and concrete placement, riprap abutment protection, concrete sealing, sidewalk removal and installation, aggregate base course, mulching, and seeding. The bridge is designed for a 100-year water surface elevation of 5559.4 with pedestrian railings and hand rail brackets.

Buy America and Buy Clean Colorado requirements apply to eligible materials including reinforcing and structural steel; contractors must furnish third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations demonstrating Global Warming Potential compliance. All iron, steel, and construction materials must be produced in the United States under Bipartisan Infrastructure Law federal funding requirements unless an approved waiver applies.

The contract term is 200 calendar days from notice to proceed, with substantial completion anticipated by May 31, 2027. A 5 percent bid bond is required for bids of $150,000 or more. Performance and material and labor bonds equal to 100 percent of contract price are required. Written questions are due September 24, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. to Project Manager Shawn Krier. Notice of award is anticipated October 13, 2026, with notice to proceed by November 12, 2026. Pricing is submitted on a unit price basis with a lump sum base bid total. Addendum No. 1 was issued September 15, 2026.
