About this opportunity
Pierce County, Washington is issuing a sole-source procurement exemption for Environmental One parts and products for the Chambers Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and Chambers Bay facilities, with a capability statement deadline of September 22, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. — a date that has passed. Pierce County has determined that only Environmental One parts possess the specifications necessary for compatibility with existing wastewater treatment infrastructure and intends to negotiate directly with Correct Equipment, identified as the sole authorized distributor of Environmental One parts in Washington State.
The exemption covers replacement parts and products required for continuous 24/7/365 operations at the treatment plant. Any entity believing it can meet the County's needs may submit a capability statement demonstrating manufacturer authorization to sell Environmental One parts and related components in Pierce County, or the ability to provide matching specification components. If a submitted capability statement demonstrates the vendor can meet the County's needs, Pierce County will cancel the exemption and proceed with a competitive procurement process.
The estimated total cost for parts and products under this exemption is $975,000 over a 24-month period, during which the exemption remains valid. Correct Equipment holds exclusive distributor authorization for Environment One parts across the Pacific Northwest region (Washington, Oregon, Northern Idaho, and Hawaii), with offices and inventory in Redmond, Washington and Portland, Oregon. Environment One Corporation, headquartered in Niskayuna, New York, has confirmed Correct Equipment's exclusive distributor status through documentation signed by its Regional Sales Manager.
Questions were due September 15, 2026. Inquiries should be directed to Andrew Robson, Pierce County Finance Department, (253) 798-7456 or Andrew.robson@piercecountywa.gov.
