About this opportunity
The City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine Department is requesting bids for pool chemicals, supplies, and related services on an as-needed basis under ITB-PR-26-773, with bids due October 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM PST and questions due September 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM PST.
The scope covers bulk delivery of liquid chlorine and muriatic acid in quantities up to 300 gallons each by tanker to three pool facilities: Belmont Plaza Pool, King Park Pool, and Silverado Pool. Deliveries must occur between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with FOB destination to the City. The vendor must maintain sufficient stock to support as-needed ordering throughout the year. All pricing must include shipping, handling, unloading, inside delivery, and ancillary charges, with no minimum order requirements permitted.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. The initial term is two years with three optional one-year renewal periods, not to exceed five years total. Pricing is fixed during the first 24 months, with escalation after the base period capped at the Los Angeles-Riverside-Orange County Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers. The City remits payment within 30 calendar days of invoice receipt.
Contractors must maintain appropriate insurance, comply with prevailing wage requirements applicable to public works, and register with the California Department of Industrial Relations. Vendors must certify compliance with federal debarment and suspension requirements under Executive Order 12549 and Title 2 CFR Part 180 Subpart C, and verify their status in the System for Award Management before bid submission. For-profit contractors with City contracts valued at $100,000 or more must complete the Equal Benefits Ordinance certification, providing equal benefits to employees with spouses and domestic partners or offering cash equivalents where compliant benefits are unavailable.
