About this opportunity

The City of Miami Procurement Department is requesting bids for police radar and laser equipment repair and re-certification services under IFB 2199386, with bids due August 4, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., a voluntary pre-bid conference on July 17, 2026 via Microsoft Teams, and a clarification deadline of July 24, 2026. All speed measuring devices must be calibrated and re-certified in accordance with Florida Administrative Code Chapter 15B-2 — the regulatory standard governing the scope.

The bidder must inspect radar units for LED and antenna damage, power and antenna cable integrity, battery connection and corrosion, and remote transmission function. Laser unit inspection covers LED functionality, outer case integrity, power cable damage, optical bench condition, and battery pack connection and corrosion. Re-certification for radars requires transmitter frequency verification, display response simulation across speeds from 15 mph to 100 mph and patrol speeds from 15 mph to 70 mph, control operation testing, tuning fork re-certification to manufacturer specifications, radio frequency interference testing, and low supply voltage testing. Bidders must bid on all line items or be deemed non-responsive and must submit pricing on Attachment A-Bid Price Sheet.

All prices must be firm for a minimum of 180 days following the bid closing date and include F.O.B. destination delivery with all associated costs. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and award the contract on a split-order or lump-sum basis. The resulting contract may be extended up to 180 calendar days beyond the stated term and may be used by other Florida governmental and quasi-governmental entities as permitted by law.
