About this opportunity

Baltimore County is soliciting bids for a complete fire suppression system replacement at the Police Department Aviation hangar, with bids due October 30, 2026.

The scope centers on removing the existing Ansulite 3% AFFF foam system and replacing it with non-fluorinated, environmentally safe foam concentrate. Work includes disposal of existing foam with manifest reports to meet all Local, State, and Federal guidelines; replacement of the foam tank and bladder with properly sized equipment including low-pressure air testing of the bladder; installation of a new foam proportioner on the existing 8-inch riser of the Wet Pipe System; and replacement of all black steel piping, valves, and tamper switches with stainless steel meeting NFPA 11. The contractor must reuse all piping and sprinklers outside the sprinkler room (including the aircraft hangar, bathrooms, and office), disconnect and cap water supply to two existing hose stations, and remove and dispose of hose reels offsite. The contractor provides sizing calculations, performs foam proportioner testing per NFPA 11 to document flow rate, pressure, and injection rate data, furnishes shop drawings and submittals for AHJ review, obtains all required permits, and delivers full system startup and commissioning. Any code violations identified during work must be reported to the owner immediately.

The contract includes a one-year parts and labor warranty and one annual inspection. The contractor provides a record of completion.

No contract value, contract term, incumbent information, evaluation criteria, or pre-bid meeting date is specified in the source.
