About this opportunity
The Town of Brandon, Vermont, located in Rutland County, is soliciting sealed bids for its Summer 2025 Road Paving project, specifically targeting a section of Town Farm Road (Town Highway 18). The procurement involves a comprehensive road resurfacing effort, which includes shim and overlay of a road segment extending from the Neshobe Golf Club to the junction of Richmond Road. Specific technical requirements include applying emulsion at 0.025 to 0.3 gallons per square yard, implementing a depth shim of unspecified material, and adding a 1-inch top coat of another unspecified material. The project also requires cold planing 1 inch on Bridge #24 over the Neshobe River, measuring 18' x 84', with matching surface treatments on approach roadways. Bidders must submit sealed proposals marked "2025 Brandon Road Paving Bid" to the Town Manager's office at 49 Center Street, Brandon, Vermont 05733, by Monday, June 16, 2025, at 2 PM. No bid may be withdrawn for 30 days following the bid opening, and the winning vendor must ensure proper keying of road intersections, connections, and paved driveways, using a rubber-wheeled roller throughout the project.
While no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on bidder types are explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents, the project appears open to standard road construction and paving contractors. The full bid specifications are available at an unspecified URL associated with the bid opportunity. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the provided information. The document does not specify a precise budget range or potential award value for the road paving project. Interested contractors should carefully review the full bid specifications and accompanying map, which provides precise latitude and longitude details for the project area. The technical requirements, such as the specific emulsion application rates and material specifications, suggest that bidders should have extensive experience in municipal road resurfacing and bridge approach reconstruction.
