About this opportunity

Cobb County School District (CCSD) and Marietta City Schools (MCS) are seeking food service distributors through Request for Proposal (RFP) P25052 for Food Supply and Distribution Services. The procurement aims to select vendor(s) capable of providing and delivering a comprehensive range of food products and supplies, including main entrees, beverages, and grocery/staple items to approximately 112 CCSD schools and 11 MCS schools. Distributors must commit to maintaining high service quality and standards throughout the contract period, with a focus on secure, firm fixed pricing for weekly deliveries. The solicitation requires vendors to demonstrate robust distribution capabilities, food handling expertise, and the ability to consistently meet the nutritional needs of school districts. The RFP documents are available on the Cobb K12 Bonfire procurement portal at https://cobbk12.bonfirehub.com/portal/?tab=openOpportunities. Key dates include the posting on March 24, 2025, with proposal submissions due by April 22, 2025. Vendors must be prepared to integrate seamlessly with existing school nutrition service infrastructures and provide comprehensive, reliable food distribution solutions.

The contract does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The procurement appears open to qualified food service distributors with demonstrated capability to handle large-scale institutional food supply needs. The estimated annual expenditure is substantial, with approximately $20 million allocated for CCSD and an additional $3.5 million for MCS, totaling $23.5 million in potential contract value. While no incumbent vendors are directly mentioned, the RFP suggests a preference for distributors with extensive experience in school food service supply chains. Potential respondents should have robust logistics capabilities, comprehensive food product catalogs, consistent delivery mechanisms, and the financial stability to support long-term institutional food distribution. The contract appears structured for potential multi-year engagement, with provisions for subsequent renewal periods, indicating a strategic approach to establishing a stable, long-term food distribution partnership.
