About this opportunity

SUNY Upstate Medical University is procuring Orthobiologics and Related disposable Products through a Vizient consortium contract pursuant to New York State Finance Law section 163(3)(vi), with vendor inquiries due by October 30, 2026. This is a non-competitive purchase vehicle — no formal RFP will be issued.

Vendors may propose equivalent orthobiologics products if they demonstrate clinical performance matching those on the Vizient contract. Equivalency claims require vendors to provide supporting clinical documentation and equipment for examination, demonstration, and trial at no cost to the University. The scope encompasses over 500 product line items: bone grafts, soft tissue grafts, acellular dermal matrices, skin grafts, spinal spacers, osteochondral allografts, and demineralized bone matrix products in various sizes and configurations, covering orthopedic, spinal, reconstructive, and wound care applications.

The successful contractor must be authorized to sell orthobiologics as listed on the Vizient contract or as an approved equivalent, and must submit valid and current New York State Workman's Compensation and Disability Forms. AlloSource was awarded an identical or substantially similar contract within the past five years.

Vendors are subject to New York State Finance Law sections 139j and 139k (lobbying law). Contact is restricted to Rachel Hawthorne at SUNY Upstate Medical University's Hospital Purchasing Department — contact with other University individuals may constitute a violation and result in debarment from sales to any New York State agency.
