About this opportunity
Stony Brook University Hospital intends to purchase ophthalmic products from Bausch & Lomb Americas Inc. under GPO Vizient Contract MS1077 (expiring June 30, 2027) on September 14, 2026, without conducting a formal competitive procurement, citing price justification under New York State Finance Law section 163(3)(vi).
This is a cooperative purchasing vehicle procurement. Equivalent-product vendors may contact the procurement officer to discuss participation, but the hospital has pre-selected Bausch & Lomb as the primary supplier. The procurement is subject to NYS Finance Law 139(j)(k) (Lobbying Law), which restricts vendor contact to the named procurement officer only; violation can result in contract denial or debarment from NYS Agency sales.
Bausch & Lomb held an identical or substantially similar contract within the past five years. Award is contingent on contractor completion of Vendor Responsibility documentation, NYS Finance Law 139 certification, NYS Tax Law Section 5-a compliance, and valid current NYS Workers' Compensation and Disability forms. Any bid or quote must be received by close of business on September 14, 2026.
