About this opportunity
The City of Denton is soliciting bids under IFB #9136 for an annually renewable unit price agreement to supply optical ground wire (OPGW) conductor and associated accessories, with bids due September 23, 2026. Only AFL OPGW conductor models DNO-8168 and DNO-10583 and accessories meeting those specifications are acceptable — this is a sole-source specification that filters all competition to AFL-authorized distributors.
The scope covers 72 and 144 fiber optical ground wire and related hardware for use as static conductors on transmission lines. Orders will be placed as needed over the contract term to accommodate project construction schedules. Products are received and distributed through a centralized warehouse at 901B Texas Street, Denton, Texas 76209. Deliveries must arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; the supplier must unload at a location with forklift and dock availability and bear all delivery costs and special fees.
The awardee must be an approved AFL distributor authorized to sell to the City. The supplier must provide a written 12-month warranty guaranteeing replacement of defective goods at no charge, with replacements delivered within 60 days of submission. The manufacturer assumes full responsibility for quality control during fabrication and is liable for field failures or repairs resulting from quality or manufacturing defects.
The agreement includes a fair and equitable price adjustment mechanism for changes in material and delivery costs over time. Pricing must include all costs for delivery to the warehouse and unloading.
