About this opportunity

The City of Missouri City, Texas is requesting bids for on-call tree trimming services under IFB 26-095, with sealed bids due August 5, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. CDT and written questions due July 10, 2026. Local preference consideration is available to bidders whose principal place of business is located within Missouri City limits.

All tree trimming and removal work must be performed by or under the direct supervision of at least one International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist. The scope covers tree trimming, removal, stump grinding, and debris removal on an as-needed basis along city street rights-of-way, parks, and other specified areas. Services extend to mature trees up to 36 inches in diameter and 50 feet tall.

The contract term is five years from execution, with potential renewal for additional one-year terms by mutual written agreement. Pricing is structured as firm, fixed hourly rates for eight service categories across the five contract years: tree trimming by two-person crews (90 estimated hours annually), additional crew members (15 hours), stump grinding (15 hours), debris removal for two-person crews (30 hours), additional crew member debris removal (3 hours), emergency tree trimming (15 hours), emergency debris removal (3 hours), and round-trip charges (10 charges per year). Unit prices remain unchanged regardless of actual service quantities, and the City makes no commitment to minimum service levels.

Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder or the bidder offering best value, evaluated on purchase price, reputation, quality, bidder experience, past relationships with the City, and compliance with historically underutilized business and persons-with-disabilities statutes. Bidders must submit ISA Certification proof, certificates of insurance including $1 million general liability per occurrence, customer references, completed debarment and financial-history questionnaires, and local preference certification forms if claiming eligibility. The City is tax-exempt and pays invoices net thirty days after service acceptance.
