About this opportunity

The City of Lancaster is soliciting competitive proposals for On-Call Traffic Operations, Electrical, and Data Services under RFP No. MSD26-01, with proposals due July 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. (PDT) and a pre-bid meeting on July 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. (PDT) at 615 W Ave H. Bidders must hold a valid California Class "A" General Engineering Contractor license and a C-10 Electrical Contractor license — mandatory qualifications that filter the eligible pool. The contract is restricted to eBidding participants who are registered DIR Public Works Contractors or meet specified restrictions.

The scope encompasses installation, repair, and maintenance services for the City's traffic signal and street lighting infrastructure, including pole and foundation installation, mast arm and signal cabinet work, conduit boring and replacement, luminaire and video detection system installation, and decorative and standard streetlight pole repair and replacement. All work is subject to California prevailing wage requirements.

The City intends to award a one-year contract with up to four one-year renewal options to one or more qualified vendors. Work is authorized on a time-and-materials, task-order basis. Proposals must be submitted electronically via the City's PlanetBids portal. The online Q&A deadline is July 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. (PDT). Pre-bid attendance is not required. Contact Gia Bowen at 661-723-5812 or gbowen@cityoflancasterca.gov for questions.
