About this opportunity

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is requesting qualifications for on-call land surveying, mapping, and aerial mapping services under RFQual-MO-1421, with proposals due September 21, 2026. Design consultants, including their affiliates, subsidiaries, and affiliated construction contractors, are precluded from bidding on construction projects for which they have provided preliminary or final design services — a material competitive restriction.

The scope covers surveying and mapping support for planning studies, master plans, alignment studies, preliminary design, final design, right-of-way engineering, and property acquisition work on an on-call basis. Respondents must meet minimum qualifications requiring a licensed photogrammetrist and either a licensed land surveyor or a pre-1982 registered civil engineer licensed in California to be directly assigned to the project.

The contract is valued as a lump-sum award with a three-year term. Place of performance is the Metropolitan Water District office at 700 North Alameda Street, Los Angeles, California 90012. No bid bond, payment bond, or performance bond is required.

Questions and answers are available online; the Q&A deadline was August 31, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific. Proposals must be submitted electronically through the PlanetBids vendor portal. Contact Megan Ornelas at 213-217-6769 or mornelas@mwdh2o.com with inquiries.
