About this opportunity

The City of Palm Desert is requesting proposals for on-call court maintenance and repair services under RFP #2026-RFP-050, with proposals due August 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. via OpenGov Procurement and questions due July 31, 2026. The contract is a three-year Maintenance Services Agreement for outdoor recreational courts and related amenities at seven City-owned park locations containing a total of 29 courts.

Scope covers maintenance, repair, resurfacing, and replacement services performed on an as-needed basis for pickleball, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, including court surface resurfacing, localized patching, crack repair, and line repainting. Proposers must also submit pricing for pavement and site repairs—asphalt and concrete patching, joint repair, crack sealing, and restriping—and hourly labor rates for various technician classifications. Materials not included in unit prices are reimbursed at documented actual cost plus a maximum 15 percent markup. Completed work is subject to City inspection and acceptance before courts reopen to the public. The City reserves the right to add, remove, or modify facility locations during the contract term.

Contractors must hold a California Class B General Building license or appropriate C specialty license and be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations for public works projects. Prevailing wage requirements apply to applicable labor categories under California Labor Code.

Evaluation allocates 25 points to firm experience and past performance, 25 points to approach to providing services, 15 points to qualifications and key personnel, 15 points to availability and capacity, and 20 points to price proposal. The City reserves the right to reject all proposals, negotiate with multiple proposers concurrently, or cancel the RFP at any time without obligation. No pre-proposal meeting is scheduled.
