About this opportunity

The Missouri Department of Conservation is requesting bids for timber stand improvement and invasive species removal services on the Gallatin Conservation Area in Daviess County, with bids due August 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Central Time. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder on price alone.

The scope covers six stands (25, 30, 34, 37, 39, and 40) ranging from 3 to 16 acres each. Work includes cutting and chemically treating trees two inches diameter at breast height and greater, removal of invasive species including bush honeysuckle, autumn olive, and multiflora rose, and focused thinning to achieve specified basal area reductions per stand. The contractor must provide all tools, equipment, materials, labor, supervision, and supplies.

Pricing shall be firm and fixed on a per-acre basis for the original one-year contract period, with maximum allowable prices stated for two optional one-year renewal periods. The Department reserves the right to add, remove, or change work area priorities during the contract period at the stated pricing.

Organizations for the Blind and Sheltered Workshops may receive bonus evaluation points of 5 to 15 points if providing services equivalent to at least 2 percent or five thousand dollars of the total contract value. Contractors must satisfy Missouri state business requirements including tax compliance certification from the Missouri Department of Revenue, Secretary of State registration, E-Verify enrollment if meeting the definition of a business entity, and conflict of interest provisions. Payment terms are net 30 calendar days upon acceptance of work. Electronic submission through MissouriBUYS is preferred. No pre-bid conference or site tour is scheduled. The contract is subject to non-appropriation of funds and the Department reserves the right to terminate for convenience with 30 days' notice.
