About this opportunity
Buffalo Public Schools is requesting parts and pricing for the 2027 Network Switch Refresh Project, with proposals due November 10, 2026. The procurement standardizes district-wide switching infrastructure by replacing aging Extreme Networks equipment with Fortinet FortiSwitch architecture.
The scope includes FortiSwitch 348G-FPOE access switches, FortiSwitch 1024E switches, associated FortiCare support contracts, direct-attach cables, and long-range SFP+ transceivers. The project integrates new access switches with BPS's existing FortiGate/FortiSwitch infrastructure, enables automated configuration and firmware deployment, and eliminates reliance on external scripts and custom server-based processes supporting the legacy architecture. Standardization of switch models, operating code, configuration, and management across the district is the primary objective.
