About this opportunity
The Town of Westborough Department of Public Works is requesting sealed bids for municipal landscaping maintenance services across seven municipal properties under IFB 27-1000, with bids due October 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a mandatory pre-bid conference on September 24, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the Department of Public Works; failure to attend results in bid rejection. The Town actively encourages MBE/WBE/DBE participation.
The scope includes weekly mowing, bi-weekly mowing, weekly weedwacking, weekly debris blowing, spring and fall cleanups, annual mulching and edging, and bi-weekly weeding and shrub maintenance at seven locations: Bay State Commons, Fire Station, Forbes Community Center, Forbes Building, Library, Senior Center, and Town Hall. Bidders are encouraged to visit all sites listed in Appendix A prior to submission.
The contract commences April 1, 2027 and runs through December 31, 2027 for Year 1, with two optional one-year renewals extending through December 31, 2029. Award is based on the lowest aggregate three-year lump-sum bid amount combined with bidder qualifications and past performance on similar municipal projects. Bidders must submit three references for similar work on municipal properties, a list of required machinery subject to DPW inspection, and a staffing plan. The contractor must maintain general liability insurance of $1,000,000 bodily injury and $500,000 property damage per occurrence, workers' compensation coverage, and provide a Certificate of Insurance naming the Town as additional insured. Contract documents are available for free download on BidNetDirect.com after September 11, 2026. Questions must be submitted via email to Derek Saari, Assistant DPW Director, by October 1, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
