About this opportunity
The Colorado Convention Center is requesting proposals for design verification, installation, startup, and commissioning of mini-split HVAC cooling systems serving three IT/IDF rooms, with proposals due August 25, 2026 and a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit on August 13, 2026 at 1:00 PM MDT. The Center encourages small, local, disadvantaged, minority, and women-owned businesses to submit and will consider M/WBE certifications as a significant evaluation criterion, though no set-asides are imposed.
The scope comprises one multi-zone mini-split system serving Rooms One and Two (150 and 400 square feet) from a shared condensing/control unit, and one single-zone mini-split system serving Room Three (200 square feet) as backup cooling. The contractor must verify room thermal loads, size systems appropriately, furnish and install all equipment and accessories including refrigerant piping and controls, connect condensing/control units to owner-provided electrical disconnects, and complete startup and commissioning. Both systems must maintain room temperatures of 70°F or less under load supporting critical IT equipment operations.
The contractor must hold all required HVAC and trade licenses under Colorado and Denver law, comply with prevailing wage requirements, and provide a minimum one-year warranty from installation. Commercial General Liability Insurance of $5 million, Workers' Compensation Insurance as required by Colorado law, Employer's Liability Insurance of $1 million, and Automobile Liability Insurance of $1 million are mandatory; a $100,000 Performance and Payment Bond with corporate surety is required.
Pricing must be submitted as firm fixed cost with itemized line items including quantity, description, unit price, applicable sales tax, and additional charges. Hourly rates and cost proposals remain fixed for the initial 90-day contract term (commencing August 31, 2026) and are valid for 90 days minimum. Written questions are due August 17, 2026 at 5:00 PM MDT, with responses provided August 19. Tentative award is September 4, 2026. All submissions must be made through BidNet Direct.
