About this opportunity

Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking med cabinets through a group purchasing organization (GPO) contract, with proposals due August 4, 2026. This procurement is not a formal competitive bid; the Hospital is purchasing from a GPO contract awarded pursuant to New York State Finance Law section 163(3)(vi), which permits consortium purchases without competitive process when justified by price.

Vendors selling equivalents to BD Carefusion med cabinets may submit offerings. Any equivalent product must meet the clinical performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) of the original contract equipment. Vendors offering equivalent, compatible, and interchangeable equipment must be authorized by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to sell the products listed on the GPO contract or provide documentation of approved equivalency. If requested, vendors must provide at no cost supporting clinical documentation, software, transportation, setup, removal, products, equipment, supplies, and accessories for examination, demonstration, and trial.

Interested vendors should contact Michael Dillon at michael.dillon@stonybrookmedicine.edu with all questions and requests for information submitted by email. The Hospital notes no past contract awards for identical or substantially similar procurements within the preceding five years.

The procurement is subject to New York State Finance Law sections 139j and 139k (Lobbying Law). Vendors are restricted to contacting only the designated individual; contact with other Hospital staff in connection with this advertisement may violate state lobbying law and can result in debarment from sales to any New York State agency. Successful contractors must submit valid and current New York State Workers' Compensation and Disability Forms.
