About this opportunity
The Museum of Indian Culture is soliciting electronic bids for the Lenape Village Project, a comprehensive outdoor educational facility located at 2528 Fish Hatchery Rd. in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The project involves extensive site development including site grading, bituminous and concrete walk paving, utility installations, construction of wood and log framed architectural elements, dry laid stone retaining walls, slope stabilization, and landscaping. Bidders must be licensed contractors compliant with Pennsylvania and Allentown municipal licensing requirements. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at 2825 Fish Hatchery Road. Electronic bids must be submitted through PennBid.net no later than Monday, August 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with a mandatory 5% bid bond required upon submission. The Museum reserves the right to reject any bids and select the proposal deemed most advantageous to the project. Potential bidders can obtain bid documents and specifications at no cost through the PennBid.net platform, with questions to be addressed through issued addenda distributed via the PennBid portal.
The procurement opportunity includes specific requirements for minority participation and compliance with state and federal labor laws, including adherence to Pennsylvania prevailing wage rates. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly outlined, the project appears to encourage diverse contractor participation. The attached project documents include multiple technical files such as site plans, drainage sub-area maps, landscape plans, erosion control documents, and detailed architectural drawings for specific elements like the Village Gateway and Trading Post. Though a specific budget range is not disclosed, the comprehensive nature of the project suggests a substantial investment in creating an educational facility about indigenous Lenape cultural practices. Contractors will need to demonstrate technical capabilities in site development, architectural construction, landscaping, and cultural interpretation to successfully compete for this contract. The multiple technical files and addenda indicate a complex project requiring detailed technical expertise and careful proposal preparation.
