About this opportunity

The Brazos River Authority is requesting bids on landscape and mowing services at two Bell County facilities under RFB 26-1399, with sealed bids due October 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and public bid opening at 11:00 a.m. the same day via YouTube. The BRA reserves the right to award all facilities or each facility individually, so bidders should price accordingly.

The scope covers lawn and ground maintenance at the Temple-Belton Wastewater Treatment Plant (Belton) and Doshier Farms (Temple), with deliverables including 30 mowing, edging, trimming, and weeding visits per location annually, 2 weed control applications per location, 2 fire ant control treatments per location, and 1 pre-emergent application per location. All labor, equipment, materials, tools, and incidentals are the contractor's responsibility. All employees must be at least 17 years old, with at least one fluent English-speaking employee on site; all must be regular full-time contractor employees. Successful contractor employees are subject to background security checks, and those with felony convictions are ineligible for site access.

Contract term is one year from the effective date with renewal options for up to four additional one-year periods (five years total potential). The BRA is exempt from sales and use taxes; bidders must not include such taxes. The contractor will be selected as the lowest responsible bidder. Payment is processed within 30 days of invoice submission to accounts.payable@brazos.org.

Required insurance includes General Liability ($1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate), Workers' Compensation (statutory), Automobile Liability ($1 million), Employers' Liability ($1 million), Pollution Liability ($1 million), and Umbrella/Excess Liability ($1 million). The contractor must register with myCOItracking.com before work begins. Questions are due September 25, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.; responses will be posted by October 2 at 4:00 p.m. All qualified firms, including service-disabled veterans, are encouraged to submit proposals.
