About this opportunity
The City of Jacksonville, Florida Public Works Department is requesting bids for apron and driveway repairs at Fire Station #57, with bids due October 29, 2026 and a pre-bid conference scheduled for October 6 via Microsoft Teams. Bidders must be on the City's approved Pre-Qualified Bidders List in the Horizontal category, hold a current Florida General Contractor license, and maintain a local business tax certificate. A Jacksonville Small and Emerging Business (JSEB) preference applies to JSEB-certified bidders where available.
The scope encompasses site preparation, concrete driveway replacement, curb and gutter replacement, sodding, temporary traffic control, erosion control, and pollution abatement. The solicitation includes two line items: the base bid (Part A, rear driveway replacement) and Bid Alternate 1 (Part B, front driveway replacement). The contractor must begin work within ten calendar days of written notice and complete the base bid within 60 calendar days; Bid Alternate 1 must be completed within 45 calendar days of the new rear driveway reaching required strength.
The contract is a one-time purchase agreement with term commencing upon purchase order execution and continuing until completion and acceptance of work. Bid security of 5% of the bid amount is required; performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract amount are mandated upon award. All applicable Florida sales and use taxes must be included in bid prices. The City is exempt from Florida sales tax and federal excise tax; an Owner Direct Materials Purchase Order (ODPO) program applies to material line items of $100,000 or more for non-JSEB suppliers. Questions are due October 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Bid validity is 120 calendar days from opening. Submissions are electronic through the City's 1Cloud e-procurement system.
