About this opportunity

ITB 26-105 represents a construction procurement opportunity issued by Brooklet City in DeKalb County, Georgia, for the Lake Hearn Drive Sidepath Construction Project. The scope of work involves the removal of approximately 450 linear feet of existing sidewalk on the north side of Lake Hearn Drive between Perimeter Center Parkway and the first driveway to the west, with replacement by an approximately 8-foot-wide multiuse sidepath. Deliverables include demolition, removal, hauling, and disposal of the existing concrete sidewalk; coordination with Georgia Power for relocation of decorative pedestrian street lights from the back of the existing sidewalk to the beauty strip behind the existing concrete curb; grading and compaction; forming and pouring new concrete multiuse sidepath; and post-installation sod restoration. The contractor must be capable of managing utility coordination, performing site preparation and concrete work to ADA-compliant standards, and executing minor repairs to existing curb, gutter, and handicap ramps as required. The project timeline indicates that Georgia Power will relocate the streetlights within approximately 2 weeks following removal of the existing sidewalk, with relocation costs pre-paid by the owner. The invitation to bid was posted on March 10, 2026, with a submission deadline of April 3, 2026.

The procurement document does not specify set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or restrictions on eligible bidders. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the available documentation. The project requires coordination with existing Georgia Power infrastructure and utility systems, necessitating contractor familiarity with utility relocation protocols and ADA compliance standards for pedestrian facilities. No award value or budget range is specified in the provided contract opportunity information, though interested parties should refer to the full ITB documents for pricing details and evaluation criteria.
