The City of Santa Cruz Fire Department is requesting bids on installation of a concrete pad and utilities for a metal storage building at Fire Station #3 under IFB, with bids due July 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on July 1, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at 335 Younglove Avenue, Santa Cruz, California.
The scope includes demolition of existing asphalt, utility trenching for electrical and fire sprinkler lines, installation of a concrete pad measuring 35 feet by 42 feet by 4 inches designed to support fire apparatus weighing approximately 55,000 pounds each, and installation of a new bio-retention area. Pricing is submitted as firm-fixed fee with no escalation throughout the contract term and any extensions. The bid form itemizes demolition, concrete materials and installation (18.15 cubic yards), bio-retention area, utility trenching and installation, and PVC pipe; a 10 percent contingency is included. Sales tax at 9.75 percent applies to designated taxable items. The contract term is six months with options for two additional six-month renewals at the City's discretion. Labor and performance bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract price and a payment bond are required within ten business days of award. Questions are due July 8, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.; responses will be issued by July 20, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Notice of Intent to Award is expected August 6, 2026.
