About this opportunity
The City of Bryan, Texas is soliciting bids for hydrants, valves, and related water infrastructure commodities under RFB 26-043, with bids due July 29, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. CT and electronic submission required through the Brazos Valley e-Marketplace Bidding Portal. Written questions were due July 17, 2026.
The scope encompasses nine categories: mechanical joint valves (gate, butterfly, and check valves); PVC and brass fittings (bends, tees, wyes, sleeves, adapters, reducers); clamps and couplings; fire hydrants with extensions; pre-cast and fiberglass manholes; valve boxes; water meter fittings; miscellaneous supplies; and small piping supplies. All commodities must comply with ASTM, AWWA, and ANSI standards, and materials including ductile iron, cast iron, PVC, brass, and copper are subject to independent laboratory testing at the City's direction.
Bidders must provide unit prices on the City-supplied Excel spreadsheet and delivery timeframes in consecutive calendar days; F.O.B. delivery is to the Purchasing Warehouse at 1111 Waco Street, Bryan, Texas, with all shipping, handling, and fuel surcharges incorporated into unit prices. The City is exempt from federal excise, state sales, and transportation taxes and must not be taxed in bids. Bid prices must remain firm for 40 days following bid opening. The City reserves the right to award contracts on a line-item basis and offers preference for single-contractor awards but may award both primary and secondary contracts for backup. The contract is a price agreement for repeated purchases over a designated period, with termination at the City's discretion on 30 days' written notice or immediately for cause. Invoices must be submitted in duplicate within 10 business days of delivery and will be paid within 30 days of satisfactory delivery and billing. Bid opening will be conducted simultaneously via Zoom.
