About this opportunity
Suffolk County is soliciting vendors for the Hill-Rom branded Peak Need Bed Rental Program to supply standard medical beds on an as-needed basis during patient surges, with initial contact required by August 6, 2026 (fifteen business days from the July 16 posting).
Vendors must hold current Certification/Authorization from Hill-Rom Company, Inc. to provide bed rental services. This is a capability filter — only Hill-Rom-certified vendors may bid. The procurement is triggered by capacity constraints; rental beds are deployed when the hospital reaches full occupancy during seasonal or epidemic peaks (flu, COVID).
Hill-Rom Company, Inc. held an identical or substantially similar contract within the past five years. No set-aside or preference program applies; SDVOB, MBE, and DBE goals are all 0.00%. Interested vendors must contact the designated hospital contact within fifteen business days of the notice posting.
Opportunity text
The Hill-Rom branded "Peak Need Bed Rental Program" is for standard medical beds, that are needed to meet the demand when there is an increase in patients seeking medical care at the hospital. Rental beds are brought in on an as needed basis, during peak times, for example, when flu and COVID illnesses increase in the general population, causing higher rates of patients to be admitted to the hospital and eventually all the hospital in-house beds are filled to capacity. This causes the need to increase the amount of beds from Hill-Rom on a rental basis. Vendors must provide proof of Certification/Authorization from Hill-Rom Company, Inc. for being able to provide the bed rental services. If you are interested in providing the above service, please contact the appropriately designated Hospital contact in the advertisement within fifteen (15) business days of the Advertised Notice. Business enterprises awarded an identical or substantially similar procurement contract within the past five years: Hill-Rom Company, Inc. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) SDVOB Goal: 0.00% Minority / Women Business Enterprise contracting goals (MWBE) MBE Goal: 0.00% WBE Goal: 0.00% Disadvantaged Business Enterprise contracting goals (DBE) DBE Goal: 0.00%
