About this opportunity
The City of Edgewater, Florida is requesting bids on demolition and replacement of chain-link fencing at Hawks Park Baseball Complex under ITB 26-PR-04, with bids due September 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a non-mandatory pre-bid conference on August 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
The scope requires demolition and onsite disposal of approximately 3,200 linear feet of existing 6-foot-high chain-link fencing, 450 linear feet of 8-foot-high dugout fencing, and 650 linear feet of additional field fencing, plus replacement of all existing gates. New fencing must be black vinyl-coated chain-link installed in mirror-image configuration matching the existing layout, elevations, and gate locations. Contractors must provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, site restoration, and a minimum one-year warranty on materials and workmanship. Florida-licensed contractors must be registered with the Florida Department of State and in good standing.
The successful bidder must commence work within 30 days of receiving the Notice to Proceed and complete the project within 120 consecutive calendar days. The contract value is not specified; however, bids must itemize costs separately for demolition and disposal, installation of each fencing type, gate replacement, and total project cost, with pricing including all freight and delivery to the worksite.
Evaluation is lowest compliant and qualified bid. A bid bond equal to 5 percent of the total proposal price is required, along with performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract award amount. Contractors must carry workers' compensation, commercial general liability ($1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate), and automobile liability ($1 million), naming the City of Edgewater as additional insured. Questions are due August 25, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. The pre-bid conference and onsite visit occur at Hawks Park (1108 S Ridgewood Ave, Edgewater, FL 32132). City Council will make final contractor selection on October 5, 2026. The City is exempt from federal and state sales taxes and reserves the right to adjust project quantities based on field verification and available funding.
