About this opportunity
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Fish and Wildlife, is issuing a Request for Information on Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for the Hale Creek Field Station environmental contaminant monitoring laboratory, with responses due October 20, 2026. This is market research only — not an RFP, IFB, or RFQ — and does not constitute a commitment to procure.
DEC is seeking written information, advice, comments, recommendations, and rough orders of magnitude from vendors regarding commercially available LIMS products and accompanying hardware, software, storage, and technical support services. The RFI outlines broad functional areas required for the laboratory but is not intended as a detailed specification; it serves as an overview of main functions needed to support environmental contaminant monitoring operations.
The stated purpose is to refine business requirements, evaluate potential implementation strategies, estimate project costs and schedules, and determine whether commercially available solutions can meet the laboratory's operational needs. Responses will inform whether DEC proceeds to formal procurement.
