About this opportunity

Huron Valley Schools, in partnership with the CoPro+ cooperative purchasing program managed by the Public Procurement Institute of Michigan, is requesting qualifications for gym floor refinishing and repair services under RFQu HV-910-021126, with proposals due October 5, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The resulting Master Agreement will function as a statewide contract vehicle enabling Michigan public municipalities, nonprofit organizations, and school districts to access services on an as-needed basis.

The scope encompasses screen and refinish, screen/paint and refinish, sand/paint and refinish, and repairs and section replacements for gymnasium floors. Proposers must demonstrate a minimum of three years' experience within the past five years and provide at least three customer references. Floor finish must be oil-based Bona Sport or an owner-approved equal. All contractor employees entering Huron Valley Schools facilities must comply with a detailed code of conduct and undergo criminal history background checks prior to commencing work.

Pricing must be quoted on an F.O.B. Delivered/Destination basis with Net 30 payment terms and must include per-square-foot pricing for each of the four work task levels plus hourly pricing for additional line painting. A 2.0% administrative and remittance fee payable to CoPro+ must be included in all pricing. Sales tax and federal excise tax are excluded for tax-exempt governmental entities. Proposers must identify the regions of Michigan they serve using a ten-region map provided in the RFQu.

The resulting contract will be effective for three years with two one-year renewal options, and multiple qualified vendors may be awarded. Evaluation criteria allocate up to 40 points for statement of work, 25 points for company profile, and 35 points for references, with a minimum score of 80 points required for award consideration. Bidder questions were due September 16, 2026. The Master Agreement award is anticipated for November 2026.
