About this opportunity

The Housing Department of the Seminole Tribe of Florida is requesting bids for standby generator installation services at Brighton Reservation, with bids due August 4, 2026 and a mandatory pre-bid conference on July 23, 2026 at 17030 S Tucker Ridge Road, Okeechobee, Florida.

A preference for Seminole Tribal Member-owned and STOFI-owned businesses applies: these vendors may bid within 4 percent of the lowest non-Tribal bid, not to exceed $200,000. Bidders must hold a current state-certified or county-certified electrical contractor license and demonstrate a minimum of two years of experience in similar services.

The scope covers installation of a 32 kW Generac liquid propane standby generator, a 500-gallon liquid propane tank, a 200-amp automatic transfer switch, associated electrical components, and a six-inch thick concrete pad rated for 3,000-pound capacity. The contractor must handle site preparation including removal and disposal of existing equipment, permit acquisition, compliance with OSHA and Florida Building Code standards, and project cleanup. All materials and equipment must be new and free from defects. Subcontractors for LP gas installation and concrete slab work require prior written Tribal approval.

The contractor must commence work within 120 calendar days of receiving the purchase order and complete the project within 45 calendar days. Required insurance includes $1,000,000 commercial general liability, $1,000,000 automobile liability, and workers' compensation with the Seminole Tribe listed as an additional insured. All materials and equipment must carry a minimum five-year manufacturer's warranty and two-year workmanship warranty.

Pricing must remain fixed and firm for 180 calendar days from the bid due date and may be negotiated by the Tribe. Questions are due July 28, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Bids are due through BidNet Direct by August 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Notification of bid acceptance or rejection is expected within 60 calendar days of the bid due date.
