About this opportunity

The Wareham Fire District – Board of Water Commissioners is soliciting bids for generator construction at the Municipal Solid Waste Processing Plant and Wells #1, 2, 3, 4, and 9 in Wareham, Massachusetts, with bids due August 25, 2026. All bids must be submitted electronically through www.projectdoc.com (Project Code 261318); hard copy bids will not be accepted. Massachusetts prevailing wage rates apply — the central compliance requirement.

The scope includes installation of propane tanks and standby generators on concrete pads, along with associated site work, duct work, and plumbing across six locations at 110 Maple Springs Road, Wareham. The prevailing wage schedule issued July 30, 2026, establishes hourly rates for approximately 100 construction classifications, with rates ranging from approximately $37.53 to $151.53 per hour depending on classification and effective date. Rates are effective between June 1, 2026, and December 1, 2028, and include base wage, health insurance, pension, annuity, and supplemental unemployment components. All apprentices must be registered with the Massachusetts Division of Apprentice Standards and carry identification cards on site; unregistered apprentices must be paid full journeyworker rates. Contractors and subcontractors at all tiers must submit weekly payroll reports and Statements of Compliance to the awarding authority and maintain records for three years. For projects exceeding one year, the awarding authority must request updated wage schedules no later than two weeks before each contract anniversary date.

Bid documents are available through ProjectDoc, Inc. at 978-499-9014 for questions or technical assistance. Failure to pay prevailing wage rates violates Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Sections 26-27H, and subjects contractors to civil and criminal penalties.
