About this opportunity
The City of Brockton, Massachusetts is requesting quotes for FY2027 electrical services and maintenance at various City buildings, with quotes due August 19, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. This is a prevailing wage project subject to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Sections 26-27H, and the awardee must demonstrate response capability within 60 minutes for standard service calls and 30 minutes for emergency calls.
The scope is on-call electrical maintenance throughout the contract year (September 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027), including wiring, low voltage work, telecommunications and data installation, office renovations, and panel upgrades. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and insurance. Evidence required includes at least five years' experience on similar projects, current licenses for a minimum of five licensed technicians, and three references for comparable projects. All employees must have completed at least 10 hours of OSHA-approved training, certified under pains and penalties of perjury.
The budget range is $10,000 to $50,000. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on hourly rates for Journeyman on-call services, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., priced as an hourly rate per Journeyman multiplied by 100 hours. Evening, weekend, and holiday rates are contractually binding but not factored into the low bid evaluation and must not exceed 1.5 times the daytime rate. The contract prohibits travel charges, mileage, and truck charges; invoices containing such charges will not be paid. Material markups are limited to 10 percent above vendor cost from a reputable trades supplier, supported by original invoices. For quotes exceeding $25,000, a 50 percent Payment Bond with acceptable surety is required. A Certificate of Insurance naming the City of Brockton as co-insured and owner is required. Weekly certified payroll documentation demonstrating prevailing wage compliance must be submitted to the Building Department prior to invoice payment. Questions are due August 12, 2026.
