About this opportunity
Washington Department of Enterprise Services is requesting bids for fluorescent-to-LED lighting conversion and controls retrofits across three Capitol-area buildings—Cherberg Building, Insurance Building, and Governor's Mansion—with bids due July 21, 2026. Work at Governor's Mansion is restricted to August 17 through September 11, 2026; no work may occur during the legislative session (January 2 through May 19, 2027). All three buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places or are part of the Capitol Historic District, establishing a historic-preservation compliance requirement.
Scope includes replacement or retrofit of fluorescent lighting to LED throughout all three facilities, with line-voltage lighting controls in Governor's Mansion and full lighting control systems in Cherberg and Insurance Buildings. Sequencing constraints require elevator-lobby lights to be completed first across all floors, Cherberg's level-1 corridor by August, and Insurance Building's level 3 prior to September 1. Two concurrent elevator rehabilitation projects will render elevators unavailable during construction. Bidders must include $3,150.00 per building in their bid price for two parking stalls for the project duration, plus describe the laydown yard per Volume 2 of the specifications.
Place of performance spans the three Capitol-campus buildings in Olympia. The source does not state estimated contract value, contract term, evaluation criteria, incumbent information, pre-bid meeting details, or question-submittal deadline.
