About this opportunity

The City of West Sacramento is soliciting sealed bids on Fire Station 43 Apparatus Bay and Exterior Repaint under ITB, with bids due July 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for June 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Fire Station 43 (1561 Harbor Boulevard, West Sacramento, California 95691). Prevailing wage rates determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations apply to all work.

The scope consists of interior apparatus bay surface preparation and painting, exterior building painting and trim repair, CMU perimeter wall painting, surface patching and minor substrate repair, signage removal and reinstallation, and cleanup and lawful disposal of waste. All work must maintain continuous Fire Station operations as an active emergency response facility. The base bid covers painting improvements. An additive alternate addresses dry rot and wood damage repair based on a third-party inspection report; the apparatus bay flooring scope has been removed from the current rebid following a previous solicitation that exceeded available funding.

Bidders must complete a site visit to verify existing conditions and review a provided 3D virtual tour. All responses must be submitted exclusively through the City's OpenGov e-Procurement Portal and include a completed W-9 form, cost proposals using the electronic pricing table, a bid bond, proof of California Contractors State License Board registration, certification regarding debarment status, and acknowledgment of insurance requirements. Contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5.

The question submission deadline is June 22, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Contractor selection is anticipated for September 16, 2026. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive variances at its sole discretion. The award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder whose bid complies with all requirements.
