About this opportunity

The State of Alabama Office of the Chief Procurement Officer is requesting Quick Quotes for fire extinguishers and maintenance through the Alabama Buys system, with responses due September 18, 2026.

The contract is capped at $25,000 total, including the original agreement and any annual renewals, or five years from the effective date, whichever occurs first. Suppliers must register in Alabama Buys and submit responses electronically through the Supplier Portal before the close date. All inquiries must be submitted online to maintain records. Respondents must acknowledge receipt of the solicitation and all amendments, confirm understanding of the terms and conditions, and certify compliance with all requirements.

Suppliers must be registered and collecting Alabama State and local sales, use, and lease taxes on all taxable sales into Alabama. The State is exempt from sales tax and will furnish an exemption letter upon request. Foreign corporations must register with the Alabama Secretary of State's Office before transacting business. Suppliers employing one or more employees within Alabama must verify E-Verify program enrollment prior to award, with documentation required within five calendar days of notification.

The State reserves the right to conduct cost realism and price reasonableness analysis and may request written proof of supplier qualifications, including manufacturer reseller authorization and certificates of insurance. Price increases during contract performance may be considered if costs increase through no fault of the supplier, but increases cannot exceed 5% of the annual contract cost and must be approved in writing by both parties. All vendors must accept multiple forms of electronic payment, including state-issued credit cards, P-cards, and EFT, at no additional cost to the State. The contract may be renewed annually by written agreement of both parties.
