About this opportunity
New Mexico State University is requesting proposals for facilities maintenance, repair and operations materials and supplies under RFP issued September 7, 2026, with proposals due October 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. local time through NMSU's online bidding system at https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent?CustomerOrg=NMSU.
New Mexico's resident-business and resident-veteran-business preference programs apply. Qualifying vendors receive eight percent of total possible points for Resident Business or Native American Resident Business Certificate, and ten percent of total possible points for Resident Veteran Business or Native American Resident Veteran Business Certificate with annual gross revenues up to six million dollars. Respondents must declare which certification, if any, they hold from the State of New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department.
The scope spans multiple commodity categories: building construction services, air conditioning and heating equipment, electrical equipment and supplies, plumbing equipment and fixtures, and general equipment maintenance and repair services. Proposals are limited to seven single-spaced, single-sided letter-sized pages in 12-point font or larger. Respondents must accept NMSU's Standard Terms and Conditions as a prerequisite for award consideration; any requested exceptions must be explicitly noted in the proposal, and NMSU reserves the right to reject proposals requesting major deviations from standard terms.
An evaluation committee will conduct the review, with finalist interviews possible but not required, followed by contract negotiations. Respondents must provide proof of liability insurance via Certificate of Liability. Questions are due September 21, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. local time. An addendum deadline of October 1, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. local time applies. All costs associated with proposal preparation, evaluation, and negotiations are borne by the respondent. NMSU reserves the right to cancel or modify the RFP at its sole discretion and is not obligated to enter into an agreement with any finalist or selected respondent.
