About this opportunity

The City of Worcester is soliciting sealed bids for entrance door replacement and related work at Worcester Senior Center under Form 149, with bids due September 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a pre-bid site visit on September 16, 2026. Bidders must hold a DCAM Certificate of Eligibility in the Doors & Windows category with single-project capacity exceeding the estimated project cost — a restrictive capability filter.

The scope includes replacement of entrance doors and related work per attached plans and specifications, with an Alternate #1 for an aluminum framing system. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision; obtain the building permit and other required permits; and comply with Massachusetts prevailing wage requirements and eight-hour workday provisions.

A certified check or bid bond equal to five percent of the total bid amount must accompany all submissions. Upon award, the successful bidder must furnish performance and labor/materials payment bonds, each equal to 100 percent of the contract amount, from Massachusetts-authorized surety companies. The City is exempt from federal excise taxes and Massachusetts state sales taxes, which must not be included in quoted prices. The contractor bears responsibility for permit fees, calculated on the total contract price.

Contract award will be made to the lowest responsible and eligible general bidder under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 149, Section 44A. Questions must be submitted in writing to Christopher J. Gagliastro, Purchasing Agent, at gagliastroc@worcesterma.gov. The project location is Worcester Senior Center, 128 Providence Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.
