About this opportunity
The City of Baton Rouge Purchasing Division is requesting sealed bids for emergency contingency catering services during declared emergencies (File No. 26-095236), with bids due August 4, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. CST and the inquiry period closing July 24, 2026.
The scope covers four balanced meals per day — breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight — for emergency responders including EMS, Homeland Security, Fire Department, Baton Rouge City Police, and other essential City-Parish personnel during declared emergencies. All meals must meet USDA Food Guide/Dash Eating Plan standards for a 2,000-calorie daily intake and include appropriate beverages, utensils, napkins, and condiments. Bidders must specify delivery days and provide unit pricing inclusive of all transportation, labor, and supplies for each meal type. All products must be new and current with standard performance practices. A one-year warranty on materials and workmanship is required.
Pricing must remain effective for a minimum of 60 days. Payment terms are NET 30, F.O.B. Destination, with all freight charges prepaid by the vendor. The City-Parish is exempt from sales tax; all prices must be quoted exclusive of state and local taxes.
The City-Parish is certified for MBE/SBE/WBE participation and encourages good-faith efforts to utilize such subcontractors. Contractors must carry minimum insurance coverage: General Liability ($2 million general aggregate), Automobile Liability ($1 million combined single limit), Workers Compensation (statutory for Louisiana), and Excess Umbrella Coverage ($1 million), with the City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish named as additional insured. Compliance with federal debarment certification, Equal Employment Opportunity standards, and the Fair Chance Ordinance regarding criminal history considerations in hiring is mandatory. Vendors must maintain current occupational licenses and permits if applicable.
Bids must be submitted through www.centralbidding.com. The City-Parish reserves the right to award items separately, grouped, or on an all-or-none basis.
