About this opportunity
Capital Region BOCES is requesting sealed bids for electrical maintenance and repair services on an on-call, time-and-materials basis for six facility locations across Albany and Schoharie counties, with bids due August 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. and a mandatory site visit on August 6, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Selection will be made on the lowest responsible and responsive bidder basis.
Services include routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative work across the main office, two career and technology school campuses, an extension center, an academy, and a Schoharie location. Emergency response within two hours of notification and routine maintenance response within four hours are required. Pricing is established on a time-and-materials basis: labor is charged as a percentage markup over the current New York State Prevailing Wage Rate, and materials are charged as a percentage markup over the bidder's documented cost. Bidders must indicate desired markup percentages on the bid proposal form.
Qualified bidders must demonstrate at least five years of experience in electrical maintenance and repair services and provide three customer references. All contractors must register with the New York State Department of Labor Public Work Contractor and Subcontractor Registry and comply with prevailing wage requirements, including submission of certified payrolls with invoices. Workers' compensation, automobile liability, and commercial general liability insurance at specified limits are required. Fingerprinting clearance is mandated for employees with direct student contact exceeding five days annually.
The contract term runs from December 1, 2026, through November 30, 2027, with options to renew for three additional consecutive one-year terms through November 30, 2030. Evaluation will be based on anticipated costs for approximately 300 labor hours and $10,000 in materials. Board award is anticipated for September 14, 2026.
