About this opportunity

The City of Anaheim, Anaheim Convention Center, is requesting competitive bids for door repair and maintenance services covering roll-up and automatic doors under IFB, with bids due July 22, 2026, and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on July 8, 2026. This is a prevailing wage project under California Labor Code, and bidders must hold valid C-28 and D-28 licenses and comply with DIR registration and reporting.

The scope is as-needed repair and maintenance for the Convention Center's roll-up and automatic door systems. Pricing must include hourly labor rates for regular time (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM), overtime (Monday–Sunday, 3:30 PM–7:00 AM), and double-time (holidays only), with all rates fully loaded including prevailing wages, equipment, consumables, and trip charges. The bid must also specify a fixed materials markup percentage and a fixed markup percentage for rental equipment; contractor quotes are subject to City approval before work begins. The contractor must meet emergency response timeframes (within 2 hours for emergency; within 8 hours for urgent) or face liquidated damages of $250 and $150 respectively, with additional damages of $100 for missed routine work and $500 each for safety violations and property damage.

The City has established a $200,000 allowance for as-needed services, though the City has no obligation to expend any portion. The contract carries an initial one-year term with City options to renew for up to four additional one-year periods, and the City may terminate at any time. Award goes to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.

Bidders must submit a bid bond equal to 10 percent of the total bid amount, evidence of Commercial General Liability ($2,000,000/$4,000,000), Automobile Liability ($2,000,000), and Workers' Compensation coverage per statute, and performance and labor/materials bonds equal to 100 percent of the awarded annual contract value within 10 calendar days of award. Questions are due July 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The mandatory pre-bid meeting begins at 12:45 PM check-in on July 8 at 1850 South West Street, Anaheim; late arrivals will not be considered.
