The solicitation specifies a Delmag D8-22 or equivalent; equivalent proposals require detailed descriptive information and technical data for evaluation.
The hammer must meet minimum specifications including 5-gallon fuel capacity, 1.5-gallon lubrication system, 1,750-pound minimum piston weight, 9,000 to 18,000 foot-pounds energy output per blow, 30 to 50 blows per minute, and 5,500-pound minimum operating weight. The vendor must install the complete system on a customer-supplied Volvo EC370 tracked excavator, conduct two days of operator training at a DOTD-selected location, perform pre-delivery test runs, and deliver with dealer service policies, owner's and service manuals (hardcopy and digital), and detailed build sheets in plain language. All products must be new, current model units. Delivery is to DOTD Equipment Acquisitions at Building 42F, 7686 Tom Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or Friday 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with 48 hours notice. The State reserves the right to reject individual line items. Upon award, the contract may be extended for two additional 12-month periods at the same prices and terms, to a maximum 36-month total term.
